Very nice graphics and audio. Simple,intuitive interface. Please continue to add more phrases and, pretty please, de-link the combined translations like "wine/sake" so it could actually be used to converse.

No have search to word and dont removed favorite history. and not have add users word. I think not enough App.

Does only tell you how to say "thank you", what if you need to reply to one. Cannot find "youre welcome", not too good.

I follow the directions in the help section and yet I cant hear the pronounciations/audio functions. Are other iPod Touch users ecperiencing this problem, or have a solution? Everything else about the app is really cool.

Ive been to Japan twice, going again this year and this is the ipod experience as it should be. Clear, simple interface, real words and phrases that you will use everyday in Japan. It works perfectly, no sounds problems for me. In 3 clicks you can find the catagory, the phrase and then click on the phrase to have it spoken for you. Sound is clear and bright. Some cards allow you to build more complicated phrases by clicking the first entry i.e. "how do I get to," and then clicking on "this address" in the list below it. My only fear is that I will rely on this app too much and stop trying to speak the language myself.

Great to have if youre just starting to learn Japanese and would like to learn to say basic words and phrases. A MUST HAVE if youre traveling to the Land of the Rising Sun.

Great app. I will be learning Japanese in the fall so Im excited I wont be going into class with no idea whats going on. Im glad I picked this app over all the others, and its cheaper as well!! Great buy!

Just downloaded the new updated and it will not load... rebooted my 3G iPhone and the same thing... deleted and installed old version from iTunes backup... will wait for the next fix before trying again.!

This app is very, very limited scope, and has only a few words in each category! For $4.99, its a complete waste of money and there are far better apps that are much more comprehensive. App only has a few categories and a maximum of 3 or 4 words in each category! Also, there are absolutely NO sentences or phrases. Complete and total waste of money. We just returned from 2 weeks in Japan and this app was of absolutely no use. We had two other Japanese language apps that were very useful though- this one was not. Buyer beware!

Nothing loads correctly, basically cant even use the app.. Sigh

Again after downloading the newest update that fixed the load problem the app is still not working correctly as nothing loads on the app except for the basic words that lead to the flash cards but nothing else seems to be working like it should great app but still needs to fix the current problems

This apps is very practical and interactive to use either for work or pleasure. The audio and translation is just excellent - since I use this apps, I can actually speak some Japanese - This new version raise the apps value significantly: information continue to be well organized, additional phrases and keywords in all categories seems to have been carefully selected (my japanase friend feedback) for their actual use and this in context to our culture.

What the heck!? The update made everything dissapear!? Everything worked perfectly before. Now when you chose a subject, its a blank white screen.

Having just moved to Tokyo I need all the language help I can get. This app is part of an arsenal I have on my iPhone. It it very useful and well-designed. Additionally, their email support is fast and very personal. A definitely good app to have.

I was having problems with the UPDATE, and I e-mailed them. They promptly e-mailed and called me with instructions. I deleted the app from my devices. Deleted the Apps from iTunes, then re purchased them. You are not charged for the second purchase. I reinstalled it on my iPod Touch and it works fine now. I will also reinstall it on my iPad. Nice of them to respond a few minutes of my e-mail. Im happy I have the App working now, I like the App

Very useful, but if they had more words then it would of been better. I highly recommend everyone getting this app if youre a beginner. The pictures are very distinct and sounds are very chrisp. This app is affordable and more sufficient than other apps that are going for ten dollars. Yoshi

This app hasnt worked on my iPhone 3GS for over a year now. Ive updated with new versions about three times...no change. Finally I decided to check their website for support. Turns out you need to manually delete the previous version before installing the new. LAME! Finally works now.

Overall this app is pretty good, although there are some strange omissions (e.g. it tells you how to ask for the time, but not how times are stated). The reference section entry for counter words is quite inadequate. The most serious problem is the poor text rendering. The screenshots do not accurately depict how the text is rendered, at least not on my iPod Touch (4th gen). The English rendering of the Japanese phrases is at times nearly unreadable.

Ive been to Tokyo three times in the last year, and have downloaded a bunch of Japanese language apps. This one is by far my fav. The layout is cheerful and easy to navigate, the sound is excellent (see tips) and I always get a smile when sharing. I would love to see an update for iPhone 4 RETINA display quality! A few tips for the audio volume playback: iPhone Settings -> Sounds -> Ringer and Alerts -> Change with Buttons "move the cursor to the right to the maximum) Bottom Line: This apps covers the basics really well and as a result its the most useful in practice language app out there.
